Sheila Wilkinson, MA, LPC, FLE
Licensed Professional Counselor
& Family LIfe Educator
As the owner and therapist of DYAD Professional Counseling Services, I would like to join you, where you are at, in your journey of life. Whether it is during a life event, a period of time or a life adjustment within a relationship, I would like to assist you in self-exploration, gaining insight and making lasting change in your life.
I have been in the helping profession for many years. My journey started over 30 years ago. I began my quest by working with domestic violence and sexual assault victims. I then went on to work with trauma victims. About that same time, I received my Bachelors in Family Life Education. Eventually, my path took me on the pursuit of my Master's Degree in Counseling and I gained dual licensure as a Limited Licensed Psychologist and a Fully Licensed Professional Counselor in 2007. I also became certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Throughout all of this, I worked for the Michigan Department of Corrections for 25 years. During that time I worked with adult male offenders and created and facilitated programming. The last several years I assisted with the creation and implementation of the Michigan Sex Offender Program. I also managed the program statewide. As I continued my pursuit of assisting others where they were at in life, I also went on to gain further training in various other areas including, training for Sexual Risk Assessments, Treatment of Sexually Deviant Behavior/Addictions, Post-Trauma, Couples’ Counseling, including Prepare and Enrich and Gottman Level II training, Couple Communication and Family Wellness.
As a therapist certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I counsel individuals and couples by providing them a safe environment where they work in collaboration with me to identify where they are at, where they would like to be, and I assist in setting goals to gain insight and bring about the desired change in their life.
Mission Statement
